Upcoming Public Hearings:
Public Hearings will be held in the Council Chambers of the Township of Spallumcheen at 4144 Spallumcheen Way, Spallumcheen, BC on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to hear representations on the following bylaws:
- Township of Spallumcheen Zoning Text Amendment Bylaw No. 2003, 2020;
- Township of Spallumcheen Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 2015, 2020; and
- Township of Spallumcheen Zoning Amendment Bylaw no. 2016, 2020

PROPERTY TAXES:
Spallumcheen Property Tax Penalty of 10% commences on all unpaid taxes on Thursday, October 1, 2020
(Due to the impacts of COVID-19 the penalty date was moved for 2020 only to being applied October 1, 2020.)
All outstanding taxes must be paid no later than 4:30 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 to avoid the 10% penalty.
Please also remember to claim your Homeowner Grant , as unclaimed grants are considered unpaid taxes and will be subject to the penalty.
PERMISSIVE TAX EXEMPTIONS AND GRANT IN AID APPLICATIONS:
Applications for Permissive Tax Exemptions and Grant in Aid are due July 31, 2020
Coffee with the Mayor
The next Coffee with the Mayor is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:30 am. We are happy to announce we will be allowing a maximum of 9 attendees in person. Please call 250-546-3013 in advance to reserve your spot. Additionally, the public is welcome to attend electronically via telephone, electronic device or computer. Please email your name, address and phone number to mail@spallumcheentwp.bc.ca and an access link will be provided to you.
To claim your Home Owner Grant online you will need to enter your 8-digit roll number (DO NOT enter the first three digits 323) and your access code. These can be found on the top right hand section of your Property Tax Notice.
Please enter your Roll Number (Also known as Folio Number) using the following example:
00999.999 (please omit the '323' as it auto fills on the very first line)

NO OPEN BURNING – COVID-19
Burning Ban Remains in Place
The Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource Operations have also issued a Province-wide Open Burning Prohibition that comes into effect on April 16, 2020 at noon and will be in place until further notice. Please contact the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department at 250-546-6708 for further information.
Campfires are permitted so long as they are (1) No larger than 0.5 metres in height and 0.5 metres width; (2) Contained (Non-combustible base w-edging); (3) Used for cooking purposes, recreational or ceremonial purposes; (4) Ability to extinguish fully and supervised at all times; and (5) Not subject to a campfire ban.

NO OPEN BURNING - Burning Ban Currently in Place
Persons in violation of the Township’s burning regulations may be subject to Municipal Ticket Information fines up to $2,000.00.
Please ensure you do not open burn during fire bans. Fines may be issued for all Open Burning that is contrary to the Township of Spallumcheen Fire Prevention Bylaw No. 1909, 2019 Consolidated February 2019.
